What does WWII mean? Well, it’s a significant short form which can be easily recognized by virtually
everyone who endured it and heard about it. Well, it wasn’t WWII at all at the beginning of the war. Only several country were involved, but later some military power were suck into this turbulent havoc.
In sense, WWII rises from the ashes of WWI (world war I). After the German Empire was defeated in WWI, new born democracy society of Germany fall into an economic crisis as a result of the Treaty of Versailles. The treaty virtually weakened the strength of Germany military force, sense of humiliation spread everywhere.

Meanwhile, the land that was conquered by previous leader, e.g. Otto von Bismarck was given back to the winning country. Especially the industrial district around Strasbourg. Losing such an important industrial area only stripped more burden to the Germans.
But, one man dare to stand out among the Germans and shout out the frustration of German citizens – Adolf Hitler
. Being the leader of Nazi socialist party, he has a strong charismatic skill which had make him an influential leader and he quickly became a prominent candidate for the German chancellor (modern day’s president). As a chancellor (after winning vote from citizens), he quickly revived the economy of Germany, and more importantly, he strengthen the military force, which would play an important role in the future of Germans. The selection of Hitler as the chancellor causing the born of the Third Reich also known as Nazi regime (similar to a regime/dynasty), breaking the treaty of Versailles in the process, which he ordered the commission of the Bismarck class battleship (the weigh and armouring of the ship was against the rules set by treaty of Versailles.
At the same time, Hitler ordered mass production of tanks, artillery and weapons. Meanwhile for the German air force a.k.a. Luftwaffe, was busy commissioning and designing their new type of fighters and bombers. The smell of gunpowder is everywhere around the German, and they know war was inevitable.
Great vision born in the far east too – Japan. As a feudal kingdom, Japan was ruled for century by their
Tenno (emperor). During the Meiji modernization, Japan set the Western power as model and quickly rises up a world power. Using some excuses to conquer the Manchurian state of China, Japan finally being considered as an empire at the end of WWI. Having the Manchurian market dominated by Japanese, American lost one of its great marketing place, thus demanding the retreat of Japan from Manchuria.
Fearing being humiliated by the retreat, Japan stay Manchuria under its control, thus US ordered massive economic blockade onto Japan….Tension between the diplomatic relationship built up slowly. Another war in far east seems unavoidable.
Back in Europe, the fascist based party dominated the politics of Italian. Their leader, Benito Mussolini, determined to build an empire that can rival the might of the Ancient Roman Empire. To accomplish this,
Benito start to seek for ally, which German was the suitable candidate at that time.
Years passed by, Germany finally grow back to its former strength. It was time for German to expand it’s influence I think. Having Allied with the Soviet, Hitler decided to expand his power on Poland…..
Conquering Poland
The Nazi forces (primarily army and Luftwaffe -their air force) start an massive military conquest on Poland by 1939AD. The new kind of army tactic were used by the Germans to invade their first victims (not actually the first, as Austria were already considered Germans territory, but not through war).
Massive armada of Tanks and fast moving vehicles were rushing towards east – Poland. Meanwhile the Luftwaffe bus bomb raiding major cities of Poland. German from the west and the Russian from the east, Poland was sandwiched by this two military power.
With the fall of Poland, British and France declared war on German. But this was just a nominal war…..the allies (France and British) were terrified by the blitzkrieg capability of German army, decided to take cover behind the defensive line of the German-France border. Feeling secured, the allies take no notice of what happening from the east.
A battle plan has be planned, the German was divided into 2 forces, 1st force was the luring force, which they attacked the Belgian and Holland territory. With the both territory calling for help, the allies abandoned their strong hold and come for reinforcement. Exactly what the Germans wanted, with the allies now in Belgian region, German forces quickly captured Luxembourg and block off the retreating line of the allies toward south west…..
to be continue…
